ALBANY -- The Albany school board on Monday released a revised tentative budget for the next school year that would restore nearly $3 million for programs including sports and transportation but would still cut 90 positions, most through layoffs.
A second public hearing on the revised budget will take place at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Albany High School, and the board is scheduled to vote on it during a June 25 meeting at the school.
Restored to the budget were seven art and 14 music teachers for the elementary schools as well as three social worker positions. The added positions will cost just over $1 million. …
