Fed: govt calls for ACCC ruling on Telstra mobile phone charge

The federal government says it's written to the consumer watchdog for advice on thelegality of Telstra's introduction of new charges for customers switching to other carriers.

Telstra is to introduce a $150 fee for mobile phone customers signed up to its newcustomer loyalty program, who want to switch providers.

It's also introducing a $50 levy on customers wishing to reduce their pre-set monthlycall levels.
