Qld: Beattie calls on sex workers to stay off Brisbane streets

BRISBANE, Feb 28 AAP - Queensland Premier Peter Beattie today called on prostitutesto stay off Brisbane streets after concerns a serial killer was targeting street walkersin his electorate.
"In this climate, it would obviously be very stupid for people to be involved in streetwalking," Mr Beattie told reporters.
His call follows the murder of Fortitude Valley prostitute Julie McColl, whose nakedbody was found by council workers on Wednesday in a carpark on Brisbane's northern outskirts.
